Need to cut key for 2012 Ford Transit Connect

Postby gazi001 » Tue Nov 20, 2012 3:39 am

I got my 2012 Ford Transit Connect few days ago. It only comes only 2 regular transponder keys. I wants to get 2 more extra keys with one remote and other transponder key. I checked the vin number with local dealer if the van equipped with RKE system. The dealer told me that it has RKE installed and each key will cost me $200.00. So I bought uncut remote key FCC ID: KR55WK47899. IC:267T-5WK47899 from ebay about $35.00 dollar and transponder key model: " BFD3TK14 FORD TRANSIT CONNECT TIBBE BIANCHI TRANSPONDER KEY BLANK" for about $8.00 dollar. Now I need to cut this key but no luck in the US specially in New York City. One locksmith wants $45.00 to cut each. It is too much. Does any member give info's for key cutting service in the UK or any where who cut at cheaper price? I have the T-code number for my key. Looking forward to hear from you guys. Thanks.

There are some guys on ebay that will sell you a key and cut it to the Tcode for about £10; but I dont know what the delivery would be like to the US.
I think if you have two keys you can program your own transponder chips using the van's ignition... I'm not sure what the sequence to program is though

Thanks for your reply. I got Mr. Key in the UK who will cut my keys. The van came with two transponder keys and no key fob. The van does not have a keypad on the doors, but if this van has the remote keyless entry option, how can I tell? Is there any parts number for " REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY" system of 2012 Ford Transit Connect ? If this option is not installed how should I begin my DIY? Looking forward to hear from you. Happy holidays.

Today I open the glove box and look behind and found this module which parts number: # 15k602. I look up this parts number at ford.com and it says following details: RECEIVER (ALARM AND LOCK SYSTEM - REMOTE CONTROL)
Part #: 15K602. So does my van has possibility to add keyless entry? I tried to attached the module picture in the forum but couldnot allow me.

If you turn the ignition on and off 8 times, quickly, then the locks will "cycle" if you have remote central locking :D

(I need to check on here for the thread with that info, just in case my memory is faulty, but the principle is correct) :P

You need to upload the picture to a web hosting site like "photobucket" and then post the "img" link in your thread. The picture will then show up here
