Hmm, I feel my mate is wrong tbh!! The 18's make it look a bit 4x4 imo!!

May try and find an in between fit - the 15's do look too small - even as steelies

I lug around approx. 500kg all the time though, so need to make sure that whatever I get will be up for it and that I can get some remotely decent / suitable tyres for them.

No, the Transit has a unique PCD but they are 18s anyway.

be wary of insurers declining to payout a) if the wheels are nicked or b) raising premiums for a modified vehicle and also, make sure the wheels are load rated for commercial work.

personally i wouldnt fit alloys on a working van, i did 100,000 miles in 2 years in my sprinter xlwb without them....

I know there are others who are also interested in this thread, so I'm not just going to keep going on with my opinion lol, but, I personally am looking at fitting alloys to my van to "tidy it up" - being a valeter / detailer the van remains in a very clean condition all the time, and I feel that alloys will smarten the general appearance of it up.

Yes it is a working van that carries approx 500kg around all the time, so I am having to look at all my options before I buy anything. I was informed by my tyre monkey the other day though that the tyres fitted on my van from BT atm are car tyres anyway - GT3's which are designed for use on heavy Merc estates etc.

i bought my connect new and had to bin the steel wheels , straight to skids in falkirk and had these fitted , wheels maketh the van lol, not much difference to performance etc but a little too spin happy on the front with the 18" , next step is getting it lowered and colour code the plastic trim
