Yes there are a few connects running round with Focus 2.0 VVT engines fitted (ST170) with 6 speed getrag MT285 gearboxes.
In my opinion the MT285 boxes are awfull with their clunky gearchanges etc & coupled up with DMF's
RS conversions are all 5sp - (Focus mk1 RS also uses MTX75 5sp gearboxes with a ratio of 3.56 & bolted to a 2.0 Zetec EFI 200ps engine)

Is there a connect with a 6sp box bolted onto a 1.8 Duratorq (lynx) engine :?: who knows it's a big world out there..
To be honest, I'm not fussed if I'm the first, second or third one to do it.

Your've worked on a conversion, why not enlightened the forum with the precedure for the 6sp gearshift assembly on the 1.8 Duratorq

I've run a couple of 5 series BMW's for the last 13 years. I thought some of the parts for them were a bit on the expensive side, but Connect parts are off the scale.
Nearly a couple of quid for a headlining clip, which would be about 40p for the equivalent BMW item.
Maybe this is how Ford sell vehicles at lower prices, knowing that they'll make it up at the servicing and repair stages.

In the end, I got them from Ford at a cost of £3.50 each

Ford part No F4493651

These are used to clip lower sides of console to the mounting brackets

those look like the same clips used to hold the bumper corner caps on... but £3.50 each is taking the p*ss

Very easily

EGR actuator is a basic dc motor which is sprung loaded.
Energise & it rotates one way, with power cut it returns automatically to it original position (open & close)- NOT A STEPPER MOTOR

The EGR position sensor wiring on both euro 3 & 4 are indentical.
Except for the EVR on the euro 3 is negatively operated compared to the EGR actuator which is positively operated.
Unplug the EVR & connect the GN/BK V+ to pin 1 & BK/GN to pin 5 on the EGR assembly.

Should be connected as follows (on 2003-2006 models ONLY - retrofit)

Pin 1 GN/BK V+ ACTUATOR
Pin 2 YE/GN POSITION
Pin 4 WH/GN POSITION
Pin 5 BK/GN ACTUATOR
Pin 6 BN/GN POSITION

I agree they are pricey

Just like the wheel arch clips are priced at £4.99 each from Ford which is odd :?
You can buy complete front wheel arch trim complete with clips for connects from 2006 onwards at £20 (trade) each direct from Ford.

Which reminds me. I will have aload more arch clips available due to replacing my rear wheel arch trims.
FREE to anyone who wants them, just pay for p&p.
