Your've worked on a conversion, why not enlightened the forum with the precedure for the 6sp gearshift assembly on the 1.8 Duratorq

Well got my new engine today

Came complete with injectors, fuel pump manifolds & turbo



Now just waiting for the 6sp gearbox

Mondeo 1.8 TDCI (QYBA) engine - final drive ratio for 1/2/5/4 gear is 4.071 & for 5/6/Rev is 2.850 on 6sp boxes (MMT6)

The MMT6 box was also bolted to a Duratorq TDCi 2.0 in the Focus/C-max (Same box type just different ratio's & bell housing)
Use for the engine’s high torque output with the 6th gear for low rpm on motorways.

I originally thought they would be bigger then the MTX75. According to Ford they are compact design & no bigger.

We will see when I get one, the first thing I will do is compare the size between the 2 boxes.

More new parts arrived today

New Fuel return pipe for new engine, Just waiting for the Fuel feed pipe to arrive.


Got some new side trims, old ones currently fitted are coming off.

Finally got my new rear wheel arch trims

Fitted the new rear arches today

Also removed the old trims, now need to clean off the old foam tape.





Obtained a later air filter box with mass airflow sensor from a 2009 connect.



My old one with filter minder is now available to anyone who wants it (See posts on page 3 for pic)
& will fit connects from 2003-2006 only

That filter minder doohickey, how does it work exactly? Does it get sucked down over the miles?

Basically as the air filter get clogged up over the miles a vacuum is created within the top part of the filter box.
This operates a spring loaded gauge which indicates how much filter life is left & when it needs to be replaced.

Once you have fitted a new filter, simply press the reset button on the minder
