I went this route after reading the answer to the initial thread, starter question.
yes they do come out, lower the subframe a little to allow enough space to get socket in and it should come undone
Getting the steering rack bolts out was easy, and I thought I was on my way. But no-one menrioned the rack it entwined in between the anti-roll-bar.
There is a little, 6mm nut, on the Driver's side that clamps the power steering pipes to the subframe, a real turd to get to and it stops the subframe lowering. Took me a while to figure out what was stopping it lowering.

That means every thing you do is a bonus to the van and ensures a long future for it.
I have been doing that for years. These bolts are the last bolts, on ther underside this van, that I previously had not touched. After this there will be nothing under this van that doesn't have copaslp on it.
You'll probably find it needs a whole host of things like bottom ball joints, wish bone bushings.
I am putting new Lemforder wishbones on and new anti-roll-bar bushes. My driveshafts are pretty new, as are my wheel bearings. I rebuilt all that a few years back, along with rebuilt calipers. My nearside driveshaft has been destroyed now, though. So, that will have to be replaced. I only put a new one on last year when changing the gerabox.
