mind you, how fast does your van go in reverse? ;)

As fast as 1st gear forward

No, being serious that's great then, at the moment if I back up to a wall I tend to open the drivers door and look behind whilst reversing, technology can take that away :)

That's how I have to reverse as well with my head out the door and not very pleasant with all the rain we've had as I get soaked

Fitted my reversing cam today, Ive also got a front cam that is connected to a portable DVR that is recording to a memory card on a continuous loop, the dvr has stop, search and playback just incase needed, the front cam was a CCTV camera, I took the guts out of it, changed the lens and put it in a small plastic electronic project box & hung it from the rear view mirror, here the front cam:

Here the DVR, still got to tidy the wiring:

I also built a small power regulator as the DVR need 5 volts & the front cam runs off 9 volts, the reg has got 2 x 5 volts, 2 x 9 volts and 2 x 12 volts, I built it like that just incase I want to add something else later on:

This is the rear cam:

This is all connected to a small 4.5 inch screen, it has 2 inputs, 1 for front cam and 1 for rear, when I select reverse it automatically switches to the rear camera

Ive set up the rear camera so I can just see the rear bumper, here what you get on screen:

and this is a pic taken on my phone, I did not move any further back when parked so I know even if it shows on the screen im touching a car a wall or whatever Ive still got a few inches left to go

I had some fun today getting in some real tight parking spaces, 3 people come out and said you nearly hit my car
Please don't send me PM's, i can't access them, when I try I get this:
