yes I agree with that but I copied and pasted the first line of the tsb and kent was also the name of the diesel in the mk4 5 and 6 escorts

so as it was built in feb 03 it would seem that it already has the modified wiring plug but in my experience this isn't always the case, the loom could have been manufactured before the 11th month of 02 as its only 3 months out, there is nothing to say that you cant just replace the multiplug and loom if you want to

Your Engine would code be HCPA & would have orignally had the Grey CMP (camshaft sensor)

How much of the wiring loom would normally be replaced.

By strange coincedence I have friends who own a business that manufactures wiring looms for the automotive industry. They stockpile stuff for months for the big companies to be ready for the orders. Having said that if this issue warrented Ford putting out a service buletin, I woud think they would have cleared the shelves of all the old spec stock. My freinds don't supply Ford btw.

its about 6 inches iirc with the connector on the end and part number is 1376175

HCPA is just the engine code of your engine

I'd just like to give an update to the problems I've had with the van. It seems to be cured now, in the end it was two injectors. However it was a very long route to discover that this was the cause of my woes.

With the help of some of you guys, I set out to inspect and test the wiring associated with the two sensors. I opened the two big conectors that sit over the gearbox. All the conections looked very corroded so I gave them a thorough clean with switch cleaner and a pipe cleaner. Put them back together and the fault hadn't disappeared. But I no longer got the P0340 P0335 codes. Instead I got the ones I expected from the beginning. P0251 and P something else that end in 211. From there it was fairly straight forward leak off test showed two really bad injectors. Took a punt on a set from the local car breakers for £80. Picked the two shiniest two and got lucky. van feels superb now. Fuel economy has improved massivly.

Thank you all for helping me. This is a really good forum for people like me who don't fix cars for a living.

I can now go back to my day job of cleaning carpets and hopefully enjoy some trouble free motoring in my van which I happen to really like.
