53 plate tddi engine problems

Quick update...

All fixed, done 3k since with no oil used and coolant clean! Must have been oil in heater matrix and oil level dropped as filter was changed when enw cooler was fitted. I sadly put 2 + 2 together and came up with 24!!

Unfortunately the person who used the van never checks fluid levels and when i heard it running noisey it needed 3 ltr of oil to get back to the top of the dipstick! I think this may have done some damage to head/cam as it seems a little noisey (but not too bad for 164k).

Going to do the valve clearances checks when i get the chance see if i need new shims etc.

Strange thing is with me driving it i can average 53mpg (last fill to fill) but with my employee driving it it returns around 33-36mpg doing plenty of motorway driving!!

What MPG do others get from a T200 1.8 TDDI SWB?? Just curious

Have a look at http://www.quartix.net satellite based online tracking with a live tracking function so at any time of the day you can check what speed your driver is doing and then ring him and tell him to slow down

i take it you done the job properly and pressure tested the head and skimmed it and new head bolts
