I'm about to do a 'how to' post on heated seats.
I've got the heating elements out of a Mondeo Ghia X so this weekend these will be the last mod to the van.

No the bit that goes on the slam panel was so badly damaged I could not secure it as some moron did not take it off properly
Had no way to secure it as the 2 screw holes had been snapped off either end.

Finally got around to changing the other two injectors (changed two before xmas). Van runs really smooth now from cold start. Parrot & DAB radio installed too but really need to soundproof the cabin area. Windscreen now has a crack so now to to replace that (under insurance) and once thats done I can fit my rear camera with one of those mirror mounted monitors.

I fitted my reverse camera and a 2nd camera so i can see in the back of the van when transporting my dogs around.

I got one of those monitors that go on the original windscreen mounted mirror.

The rear view camera has markers which display on the monitor to give me some guidance, each line actually works out as 2 foot gap. The monitor switches over when the van gets put into reverse, the default camera is the one that displays the load area.

I have 2 x 12v flourescent tubes to fit yet to light up the load area.
(got to look after the dogs, they are my babies)



I positioned the camera just above the number plate, i didn't want the flush fit camera that requires the rear door drilling with a hole saw so i went for a different camera which i mounted between the number plate lights and used the grommet already there to route the cables.





(just been out to check van rear bumper as the pic above looks like there is a scuff on the bumper edge, phew !! its just the way the light shines on the paint)

I managed to get hold of a 2008 Connect centre console with heater controls ready to accept the new double din DVD.

BUT i am seriously considering getting the centre console modified to custom fit my Ipad (3g), i can then connect the ipad up to an amp and then to my speakers so i can play music and watch films / tv (via TVcatchup app where you can watch FREE freeview). Surf the net etc etc

I would need to move the heater controls, easy enough to do as its all electrical. Also get rid of the 12v socket (move to inside glovebox) and the recirculate switch for the heater controls as i never will use it.

My pal is going to modify the old centre console to see what we can do, i will update as i get it done.

Here's what i mean, the ipad goes in the middle and the heater controls get moved, then the centre console covered in carbon film







There is enough of the console left at each edge to play with....



The ipad will be mounted so it can be taken out of the van when i park the van up, maybe velcro or a metal strips added to the back and then magnets on the centre console, it will lay flush when fitted.

I did mine last month, easy enough to do, i made up a template with cardboard and cut the bulkhead out of 12mm plywood.

I covered it in underlay to sound deaden, this stuff....

and then covered in acoustic carpet....

A also plylined the rear using the underlay between the van body and the ply to really deaden the sound, i just painted the ply in the back of the van black instead of carpet because of the dogs in the back will just cover the carpet in hair.

The ply bulkhead is held in place by brackets which i got from a local DIY shop (90deg brackets), i put my bulkhead 12" futher back from the seats to give me a little storage behind the seats.
