Vans looking really nice Drizz.

Those headlights with projector lenses is it just a case if splitting the old headlights chopping part off of the reflector then sealing/fixing the lenses in and wiring them up?

Would be good to know where the parts came from ;-)

not so much today, but yesterday I spent the day treating areas of my van where either there was either small patches of rust, or where the lacquer had peeled off (mainly on the roof).

the main rusty patch was on the rear drivers corner in the lower curve "cut out" for the light cover...

simply put I took the light cover out, rubbed down the whole rim to clear off any dirt or built up algae, then using the metal brush that's part of the "touch up pen" kit from ford wiped away the residue, and applied a coat of "Colorado Red" paint, left it for an hour then applied a coat of lacquer.

before I did that I had washed my van and allowed it to dry, after doing that small corner patch, I got a small step ladder and started applying the lacquer to the areas on the roof where it had just started peeling, on other areas where the paint was damaged I just repeated the same treatment I had used for the "corner"... left the paint to dry and applied the lacquer.

not much but it keeps things from getting too bad... I still have all the stone chips on the bonnet to deal with next

Not today, but i was invited by the Players team to show it Saturday at the Players Classic show at Goodwood. Looked a little out of place there to be honest. But after all this is a working van LOL

i finally got my "151 Sticky Stuff Remover Kit" I ordered last week from ebay... finally got rid of that sticker/sticky foam that was left after a combination of some little ar*ewipe trying to rip the "connect" badge off of my TC only to actually get the "CT".. I pulled the remainder off last week.

Next up is to get the double sided sticky foam tape applied to the spare "Connect" badge I have, and get it fitted. Although that's likely to happen tomorrow now.

all being well, tomorrow will deliver (via Royal Mail) my 15mm "Long Socket" and after putting the back of my TC up on my set of ramps (recent meds have made it a little tough to lay under it comfortably) I will remove and then replace the rear bumper and the 2x plastic corners.

after that I intend to try and dig out my old Transit Mk5 spares (although by this point it may just be a pair of rear light covers) for offer on here.

Despite what my other recent posts may suggest... my day has turned out to be quite productive.

Sadly, im still waiting for my long 15mm Socket to arrive... almost at the point where im due to complain... so the rear bumper and associated corners still remain in bubble wrap with the old ones still attached.

After a bad morning dealing with my local Ford Parts Dealer, I went out and plugged in the wire for the radio control stalk into the back of the sterio, and after removing the large panel that wraps round the steering where (the large one with the side lights switch) and the bottom steering column couling, I taped the radio control stalk chord to the at vatious points along the existing cables to keep it tidy-ish.

just as I was about to re-attach the couling I noticed (what iv apparently been blind to for the last 3 weeks) that there was a section of foam with a groove cut in it where the control stalk should slot through...

so after being pissed off with the Ford parts dealer, I just got a long, fine drillbit and drilled holes into this groove/cut-out to provide a guide and then using a sharp knife cut from one hole to the next... and it actually turned out pretty good... apart from a slightly larger than planned gap at the lower edge where the control stalk plugs in... but its only something like 2mm... so I can cover it with a bit of tape to stop dust getting in, but all in all a good days job.. even if it was a bodge, and in the process saved myself from having to pay Ford ATLEAST £33.00 for a couling with the control stalk hole already there.

and im keeping my fingers crossed that my socket arrives tomorrow, so I can get on to dealing with the bumper
