Some good thoughts on this forum. I don't like the sound of my engine temperature rising; I'll just see Martyn

Just read that thread quickly and the arguement does fade and TBH I have never heard this stated before. I have mine blanked and since doing this I think the van is a little more "snappier". I also fitted the Focus airbox which sucks in more cold air.

mines got the later egr so its different.......but it looks like the small dia black one going to the back.....if u take that jubilee clip off and remove the rubber inlet there should be a butterfly valve, normally open, that vac pipe closes it down when its recirculating the crap

I fitted mine and the van feels like it misfires when I accelerate, especially when cold. Do I need to disconnect a pipe?
Mines a '07 TDCI 75, no warning lights on the dash.

If this is a normal trait with the blank then its coming out!

I'm not sure if you need to disconnect any vac pipes on the early EGR valve (UFO looking thing). I haven't and mine still runs fine with a blank plate in. I think it's the later EGR valves (hoziontally mounted) that need the vac pipe taken off.

From what I've read, the TDDI with the solid blank plate mostly runs fine with no issues.
The TDCI with the blank plate with the 5mm hole are prone to little problems like management light and lumpy running.
