Seems like it's leaking into the gaiter and stays there.

€470 later the steering rack seems to be working again (replacement part + consumables + labour).

The monthly average cost (year) of running the old van is creeping up to the cost of leasing a new one.

I am losing fluid randomly and cannot find from where, besides fluid loose did you have any other symtoms?

I get a bit of nose sometimes when turning but i think its when the level gets low i then top it up

Do the pumps on these play up? I cant find any drip marks anywere to see were fluid going driving me insane!

It was groaning and shaky when turning. It leaked into the gaiter and stayed there until it was full. Then squeezed out of it.

Did you get rack repaired or replaced?

Ill have to check the gaitors tomorrow

Hopefully ive a leak on the cooler pipe or somewhere but sure ya know rightly the rack will need changing! Might evenn try some lucas fluid in it, it expands the seals can stop leaks have had some success in the past with it

Please don't use the trick fluids, you might end up with no power steering in the middle of nowhere.
