About time

And a mandatory what did I do to my Connect today: started removing the full wrap vinyl from the roof. It's in the worst state, all raggedy and awful. Will remove everything to work on some rust issues but that will have to wait until spring when my new Custom Sport arrives.

Took it to the dealership to diagnose a long-running issue with up until now daily "Service Beltminder" message on screen (with accompanying airbag light). Almost didn't pass MOT this spring so I had to do it. They ripped out the whole interior to find a set of bad factory connections between two CAN harnesses under the carpet. I sh*t you not: Ford had made finger twisted connections with a heat shrink over them in the factory.

So, never assume that the factory wiring doesn't need checking

I test drove it on the motorway !

Hardly sounds exciting, but it is to us. A couple of days ago I collected our van from the local workshop we use after having a mot and a few bits. It has been living under a sheet in our garage for many years, It was last mot'd in 2023 and before that 2019 I think, so we hardly use it.

As it passed thankfully, I decided to go ahead with a service and some preventative items that have been lingering for a while, such as weeping water pump, noisy alternator and the cambelt that's never been changed in 16 years. The price came to just over £1500, mostly labour of course.

Well it seems to drive better than ever, we have an trip to Essex next week so will take the van for that with some confidence.

A couple of weeks ago I put on some 18" steelies...
Boring, but they work without having to change to longer studs.
Tried to dress them up a bit with a rim stripe and some chrome lug nuts.

Hey there dear community!
I ve a mk1 which im pimping nicely :)

Do you have any ideas if there have ever been dashboard compartiments options?
It would be for this wonderful underrated space (see photo), for which I find no substitution at all (I guess it has never been fabricated).
Any ideas ??

Thanks a lot!!
