Did some a couple of experiments trying to enable optional features on GEM modules fitted to 2009 onwards connects.

When using IDS the only features available to enable/disable are remote unlocking single step or double step & Heated front screen.
There are no options available to enable/disable the optional features - automatic wipers / automatic headlamps (Autowipe/lights) or Alarm.

I have 3 GEM modules as show below

Image
Image

All 3 modules have the same standards features enabled.
Apart from the optional features which differ & are as follows :-

GEM A - Heated front screen
GEM B - Heated front screen & Autowipe/lights.
GEM C - Heated front screen & Alarm

As I want Autowipe/lights & alarm for my connect. Fitted GEM B ran IDS, selected PMI (Programmable Module installation) DATA was downloaded from module.
IDS instructed to fit new module, fitted GEM C & DATA was uploaded to it.
Outcome GEM C has Autowipe/lights has been enabled but Alarm had been disabled :(

Next step was reprogram GEM C, Unplugged it & ran IDS (new session) & selected PMI again for GEM. IDS instructs to install new module, GEM C was plugged back in. IDS then gave option to program "As Built Data" to proceed with this It verifies vehicle Vin number too download correct calibration for that Vin from Ford.
When IDS ask to confirm if Vin nunmber is correct select NO, & enter in Vin number from another connect that has the features already enabled. Calibration is downloaded for new Vin & uploaded to GEM C.
Outcome - Now GEM C has Autowipe/lights & Alarm enabled :D

To change Vin number back to original, start a new session in IDS while GEM C is still plugged in & select PMI. when is asks to comfirm vin is correct select no & enter in your original vin number. Data is then downloaded from GEM C. When prompted to install new module, leave GEM C plugged in & DATA is re-uploaded too it with your original Vin Number.
Outcome - GEM C still has Autowipe/lights & Alarm enabled

Extra wiring for Alarm feature, consists of 1 wire for alarm horn & 1 wire for bonnet switch
Alarm horn is location behind glovebox see below

UPDATE - Results for washer jet - Mist type

I can confirm that they do indeed work brilliantly

Point where screenwash/water makes contact with front screen is where yellow line is shown in pic below.

Image

I did take a pic of them working unfortunately wipers start working too when button in pressed

These mist type washer jets are specifically for connects & available as heated or non heated.
Part no's for both are posted earlier in this thread

Steering angle sensor will require calibrating if being replaced.
Ones fitted to connects with ESP from 2009 will not work on any other Ford.

If your looking for a squib/clockspring on it's own, get one from a Focus mk2 (2005 onwards)

This one here will fit connects 2009 >
:arrow:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2005-FORD-FOC ... 20ddeb1534

Remove 4 screws securing squib to body, unclip & remove steering angle sensor from back of squib. Then fit your original connects one in it's place

That Squib is the same fitted to my connect (same part number  )

Image

Yours will be the same providing if it's a 2009 onwards connect (will have the same dash I have fitted to my connect)

As for parking sensors, it depends on what parking module you have - Bosch Park Pilot, Valeo :?:
& if wiring is present or not - see previous posts on parking sensors on this thread

They're not a straight swap on the Mk6, as the Focus mist ones are bigger, and need the hole enlarging, but the Mk7 may have the bigger jets already fitted, so could be a straight swap :)

New Mist jets I have fitted, are listed for Connects only
(Focus ones have different part no)

If they were fitted to transit mk7, aim would be to high (screenwash/water would most likely hit top of windscreen) :(

Think Ford only supply the mist type jets now, I will check Microcat later for part no's
