I`m also in the market, i see where people are coming from regarding keeping the load rating of the tyres, but like most others with the small connects i dont really cart loads of stuff about maybe 200kg on a bad day, this is still a lot less than when i had my Focus loaded up to the bollox and 3 passengers to boot on standard car tyres. So fitting alloys and car tyres shouldnt be a problem.

Well I cart around approx. 450-500kg so load ratings do sort of conern me, but plenty of people have told me that extra load car tyres should be ok

i see where people are coming from regarding keeping the load rating of the tyres,

Mostg threads about the load rating of the tyres seem to be full of internet know nothings just talking about how the load rating of the tyre isnt right for a van. They have forgotten that if your putting car wheels on, the car wheen has a lower load rating... alloy wheels are not over engineered, and only have a load rating to match the vehicle they are from!

This means that Focus RS alloys will probably only be rated to 450-500kgs...!!! The tyres are rated higher!!!

There is hope however, aftermarket alloys ARE usually over engineered, for safety, they dont know if they are going on a small or large car, thus most are rated in excess of 600kg

Luckily, they way the "internet know nothings" work, they will now be able to repeat this information where required so I dont have to.

PS, my aftermarket alloys, 650kg if I remember. Devil Mirage.
