Dub-77 wrote:Andy you explain it very well thanks (again) but I'm having my plated made and wanted th holes all drilled and ready to go straight on so I as looking for a defo measurement without fitting and unbolting and re drilling etc. so was gonna get centre hole drilled 15 mm fwd ??

It all depends on how low your van gets when you lower it, why not get the centre hole elongated so you can adjust the position of the axle whilst on the van if needed. Just make sure you adjust the same each side of the van.... :D

once the leaf springs are tightened up with the leaf spring U clamps then the axle wont move on the plate.

just an idea.

cheers

what do you need to do then ?

if there's a simpler way then share it, saves the fella doing more work than needed.

not everyone wants to line someone elses pockets...

why don't you want to share info ?

the way i told the OP is free, why would he want to pay someone else to do it, stop being so secretive and expect members to pay for it.

this forum is surely to help each other and NOT an avenue to squeeze money out of members.

I like to share the stuff i do to hopefully enable others to do the work themselves, others seem to try to get rich from other members.

Don't start this again Andy. PLEASE!!!
All I did was reply with a link to VT who can help.
I can't blame VT for not wanting to share everything as in effect he is running a business now. If he gave everything for free then there is no point in running a business.
It's like calling Vantuner or similar company and asking them to tell you how to tune your van / car thus bypassing them.
I can't share this info to you dude as I don't know and wouldn't want to say something in case it's wrong. I only know brake discs. My axle is bang on and haven't had any grief since Paul set it up.
Yes it cost me, but it was done professionally and right and that is all that matters to me.
I would not want to do this design / technical stuff in case I endangered myself. I'd rather someone / or a company to do it. But that's me.
If you have the ability to do it yourself then go for it!!

Stop putting up daft posts and getting people to "guess what relay" etc, if you have some info to help others then share it and stop asking members to "buy a kit from valetech", every time someone asks for info you put up a reference to modyourtransit, valetech says there is no need to move the axle, so what is the alternative then ? - why the secrecy ?

it's getting a bit sad now, all this "PM me for info" etc, i appreciate someone has a business to run but it seems that any piece of help now has to be paid for, are you on a commission or something ?

As far as doing it properly goes, who says we aren't doing it properly ourselves, who gave valetech the divine right in doing it properly, are the rest of us bodgers ? I think not !!!

You are getting on folks nerves with all this reference to valetech every time we have an issue with something, myself on the other hand will always try to help members keep the costs low by doing the work themselves, give the members some credit for their mechanical skills.

No problem, be careful though your axle doesn't fall off and you die in a big ball of flames, because you did the work yourself and didn't "get it done properly".

For a start not all vans can have there axles moved back.
This forum doesn't line my pockets.my company has sold many many kits all over Europe from the website eBay etc
It's all well and good say how you did yours (that's fine),but there is a few different setups ford did.so 1 way will not all ways work on another van.

I have given a lot of time making 1 kit fit all.so I'm not going to give it away.

It's about time you flocked off and stop giving false/wrong info.
You don't even own a connect.

I've been members of many forums over the years and I gotta be honest (even if I do get sh*t for it) this is by far the clickiest forum I've been a member of.
I've always been one for helping out others in the forum community as that's what they are there for. GK, I understand Paul is running a business and his gotta make a living but he should stay away with the little comments. You don't see Martyn (vantuner) on here being like that. We all know what Paul does and can do that's why I haven't before earlier today asked how to do it, he obviously know so fair play and if he don't wanna share then fine but no more I know how to do it type comments. I hope Paul does well in his business he puts in the time and research and money to create the thing he does. I for one have had a disc conv kit from him and am very pleased with it.
So bring on the tongue lashing...
