The BT Fleet garage change them at 90k.

Though updates happen and this may differ.... will be doing mine sooner than that.... my 54 plater is coming up to 60k... another 15 -18 k should do it..

It's not just about mileage, if a vehicle has done only 20k in 10 years for example, it's had 10 years of cold winters and hot summers and general age degredation of the rubber.

Hope this helps..

Dave

transit connect is 150,000 mls or 10 yrs and ford specify that the chain/belt that runs the pump needs replacing at that time too

Can you clarify that one? Do Ford change the fuel pump chain set on every cambelt change?

My chains are at 211,000 miles and haven't been changed  (but they do rattle a little :D )

Normaly cam belt is changet every 60/90 k kilometers not miles!!!! So in miles every 50kmiles will be ok. Cam chain shuld be changed every 180-200k kilometers.

Good look mate;) all belts are same material made and is imposible to change every 150 at ford, 60 in vw audi skoda seat, 70 in peugeot renault citroen, 60 in dacia kia deawoo, etc... If you want to realy know how much can doo cam belt cal to gates or continental/contitech or ruwille or INA and aske them how long you can drive on they rubber cam belts. When ypou get the answere go to ford and ask them why belt factory saing up to 90k kilometers (about 60k miles) and ford saing over duble of this distance

I know somone can be trained but that dosnt mean about they teach him correct things. Im doing mainly VAGs (mean vw audi skoda seat) and VW said the gearbox oil no need to be changed at all and power stering fluid no need to be changed at all. And how they train VW specialist if Gearbox Oil factories said transmision oil need to be changed every 100k kmeters or 2 years and the same with flud in power stearing. So as you see part factory is saind diferent things than car factory. And im belive for part factories as im fitting just part, not whole car

But ofcourse everyone have own head and will chose what hi want

oi stavros, im not some spotty teenager who is still learning, ive been working on fords for the best part of 20 years and its as per ford etis that ive quoted the cam belt replacement interval not a guess off the top of my head, i do appreciate that some belts are made of the same material but not all are the same width, on a connect it only runs between the pump and camshaft so its not that long

Stav,

It's not just about the material the belts are made from. Have a think about the path the belt takes
