Will these alloys fit on lowered transit? 18" x 8.5" ET40

Hi, I am in the USA and I am looking to install 18"x8.5" ET40 wheels on a tall roof, LWB Transit Connect. I plan to lower the van as well and I don't want any rubbing. Any hope of this fitting? Is there a more ideal offset?

hiya m8y should be ok with 8.5's with that offset but might be a bit close on rears to the inner arch......7's would defo clear

Thanks for the reply! This may be a long shot, but does anyone have pictures of an 18"x8.5" ET40 on a lowered van?

Ford use 18"x7.5j
But most people use the focus st wheel which is 18"x8j
Both have a et45

Both run very close to the rear inner arch felt panel
It's also a case of how low are you going

How much lower is this(your?) van compared to stock? Are these the 18x8 et40 ST wheels? 225/45/18? Rubbing?

I'd be happy with these ride heights. I want the van to be usable but the stock ride height is too high.

first pic is my old van yes,does go lower than that.they are connect alloys 18"x7.5j et45 its around 4"to7" lower on the rear sportvans are lower from factory than a standard connect

second pic is a customer/forum member.
lowered the same as mine and running focus st 18x8j et45

have had no probs with the wheels rubbing

4" to 7" is a big range relative to vehicle ride height! So an extra inch in width may get close to the inner plastic arch in the rear. Has anyone trimmed this arch or spaced it? What about the front? Rubbing at full lock?

i fitted 5mm spacers on the front if mine just because i wanted to really... and no rubbing on the back at all.

wheels will fit......... but those tyres are 9% bigger radius than standard and will put speedo way out

thats my van next to g-man at north weald.
not sure what size g-mans wheels are 16" or 17"
