I wonder if it's charging

Right guys I got this problem with the battery light popping up every now and then, it's not an every day thing it could happen today and not happen for another few weeks.

I have replaced the loom which goes from alternator to the connector block in front of the fan housing about a month ago and alternator was replaced 2 maybe 3 years ago and covered no more than 30000 miles.

When the light is off I'm getting a charging reading of 14.25 volts with the light on I'm getting 11.99 volts but if I turn ignition off and restart the light does not come straight back on I mean the light came on Wednesday morning I turned engine off n back on and the light did not come back on till yesterday afternoon.

This problem has been ongoing now for last 6 months or so

Has anyone else had or got this problem or am I going to be the first with the headache.

When that happened on my Focus, I ended up replacing the 11 month old alternator

It's a joke not knowing what it is
Is there something inside the alternator that goes wrong or something

I don't really know, I ended up buying a "cheap one" from ebay, because the autospark who fitted the faulty one, refused to replace it under warranty, saying that the injection pump had "probably" leaked and killed it.
That cheap one is still going 3 years later, but I never got round to stripping the old one and having a look

That was the third alternator, and I've just replaced the third starter Maybe their position at the front, and me doing a lot of Motorway miles is the problem, but none of them have been swimming in diesel as alleged by the sparky twat
