Key fob worn out

Postby lightning » Sat Aug 25, 2012 11:49 pm

The lock button on my remote fob has worn out and is hard to use.

How can I fix this, do I need to buy a new remote fob, and then get it coded to the van somehow? Are the ebay ones OK?

Is it the square fob that's separate from the key? If so the eBay ones with the blue buttons are fine. I bought one when I first got my van and it's been fine for the past two years. Just remember to code all the fobs at the same time so you've got the old one as a spare ;)

You have to sync/code them all in one go not at different times ;)

I did wonder that, so have emailed the seller to see if mine are available.

Can I use the older type separate remote with my 2008 Connect?

The microswitches are different, but they also sell the correct type for my remote, so I ordered a set.

Parts arrived today, fitted in 10 minutes and now the remote is as good as new for £6.

Takes a steady hand and a fine tipped low wattage soldering iron to do the job though, or you risk damaging the circuit board.
