Transit connect fan direction flow

Postby Aaronconnect » Tue Sep 04, 2012 6:27 pm

Hi.
I have a ford transit connect diesel tddi 75ps and have a few problems.
1st of all I am trying to change the air flow in the cab of the connect from windscreen to face or face and feet and so on but it seems that the switch turns all the way around but It doesn't change the flow of air it stays on windscreen. 1st of all i had to change the link cable from the dial/button down to the drivers footwell to the gears and cogs as that was broke that solved the problem of it being really stiff to turn that's what I think broke it but as fitting this it worked for a day or two now the dial just turns and does nothing it seems as if the flap that changes direction is getting caught any ideas how to solve this or at least how to get into the black enclosure. As it moves if I push the arm up and down ( in drivers footwell)

Thanks
Aaron

No it hasn't that was the reason I changed it I had it working for a day or two the went again stuck on windscreen so I went to drivers footwell forced the arm up a notch then it turns between the middle option but soon as it gets too the first or last option it gets stuck and I have to force the arm up again I wondered if was an internally problem but don't know how to get it apart without the whole dashboard out?
Thanks

No that was the reason why I replaced the original as they came off but was really hard to turn but now it's stuck again and only moves if in middle options but if in 1st or last it gets stuck so I have to go to footwell and force the arm up any ideas ?
Thanks Aaron

i dont know

pull the dial know out to see nothing has snapped - mite be able to have look if you pull the heater fascia off (you dont have to remove the dashboard to do that)

youll be able to have a good look once thats out the way to see if anythings trapped

Maybe remove the switch at the back of the dial to make sure no connection or bits of plastiv has snapped when fittng the new one

I have the same problem but havent got round to doing it - it wont fail MOT so i dont care about mine
