Changing seats in transit connect

Postby Chrissyronald » Fri Sep 14, 2012 10:51 pm

Hi all.

Just got my transit connect 57 plate.

And I am wondering if the fiesta mk6 ST seats will fit into mines

Any help will be great

Cheers

In theory you can fit whatever seats you want.
Its how you put them in and fix them is the important part.

Is it safe to use UNi-strut and appropriate nuts and bolts etc to fit them in?

It's how my ST seats are fitted, I asked the guy at MOT time and he was fine with it.

No mate, unistrut is inverted, so seats bolt to the elongated holes allowing for adjustment, then use a bolt throu a zeb clip with the spring removed. Very solid.

My seats bolts to made 1/4 inch thick plate that is bolted to the original bolt holes in the floor with high tensile 14.9 cap head screws. Then the seats are bolted again to 14.9 high tensile cap head screws to the plate.
Bearing in mind original bolts are only 8.9 torx so i have uprated the fixings so no bodging this end.
All speced up by professionals.
Too worried about seats ripping out of floor or bolts failing.
