Transit Connect T230 LWB TDCI (Misfire, white-grey smoke,)

Postby Barker1985 » Sat Sep 22, 2012 9:24 pm

I have a transit connect t230 1.8 tdci which is misfiring and smokes white-grey. I have put new injectors in cleaned fuel lines checked pipes for splits new fuel fillter, air fillter, any suggestions? Could it be the fuel rail?

Were the new injectors coded to the ECU :?:

Fuel rail no.
Are these injectors from a genuine Dlephi Agent or copy or second hand.
I would be re checking injectors or checking the switching time (milli seconds) on the injectors.
If they are 100% ok then i would be removing the high pressure fuel pump. Possible fault could be the venturi or the relief valve.

Camshaft or crank sensors. Cheap options to start with at around £20 each.

We have programmed the injectors to the ecu got the injectors from gap heds autoparts Birmingham my old ones reconditioned.
I have loads of fuel pressure from pump.
So first I should buy a:
New crank sensor
New camshaft sensor

Could the timing be out a little?

Put in order what I should do first?

Cheers Richard

If the vehicle runs it isnt camshaft or crankshaft sensor.
If camshaft sensor fails vehicle will onky fire and cut out or not run at all.
Working as a diesel fuel injection specialist i would be removing injectors and sending to a delphi diesel agent and getting injevtors tested on the the authorised CRiPC test bench.

They have come from a registered company got 12000 miles warranty or 12 months whichever comes first. It has to be something befor the injectors as it fluctuates between the two middle injectors if you take electrical connector of to see if there is a difference in running whilst idling.
