Yes it can be done, check here

viewtopic.php?f=54&t=110324&start=30

Valetech has already done it to a 2004 connect.

If your is the mk1 connect (ford badge on bonnet) 2003 -2006

Then you will require later front bumber complete with both grills & rubber spoiler for bumper bottom , Both front plastic wheel arch trim & Later Key barrel for bonnet lock (the later one is longer !)

if yours is the mk2 connect (ford badge on grill) 2006 - 2009

Then you will require later front bumber complete with both grills & rubber spoiler for bumper bottom - Thats it. Very easy mod everything just bolts / clips on.

Yes the later dash will fit too, Just will bolt straight in. Remember to get the steel support / frame the dash is bolted too, as it is different to the one you have currently fitted !

The only downside is the wiring loom, Mk1 connects are straight forward easy to mod, Mk2 connects have a CANBUS system fitted, (where every electrical component talks to each over) - The CANBUS itself is built into the fuse panel behind glovebox.

The new connects also have a CANBUS system as well. Most of the original loom on a mk2 may be moved & relocated for the later dash, The problem will be the instrument panel (clocks) They have to be reprogramed to your vehicle via CANBUS.

The easy option is get the wiring diagrams for the latest model & compare them to the wiring diagrams for your connect.

If you have the mk1 connect the only way it can be done is change the wiring loom & elec components etc. Basically you will be installing the CANBUS system & everything to go with it (But everything electrical must be from the same vehicle)

I was thinking of doing this as my next project

I'm in the process of gathering parts to do this to mine. Fortunatley mine is a 57 plate so just front bumper swap, I've also got 4 new arches new fogs etc to go on. Going to try get it all done mid nov when I'm off work for a few weeks and can spare some time for the van to be off the road :-)

are you still talking about the same model facelift?

this is a mk2 facelift, very common thing to do to a mk1
Image

this is a mk3 2010ish on also known as a facelift
Image

as you can see i did a mk1 2005 to a mk3 front end.

if doing any facelift with any mk1 will need a replacement or worked bonnet due to the ford badge.
you will also see on the mk3 facelift there is a trim on the bottom edge of the bonnet just above the bumper.its only a stick on £20.00 trim from your local ford dealer

Took about 3 hours to do mine.
Only a small bit of metal had to see the angle grinder as the part the grill sits in is lower than on the old front.
