HELP!! Transit Connect TDCI....Poss Fuel Problems?

Hi all,

The other weekend I went off and bought a Transit Connect TDCI, 1.8, 2008. It was a 200 mile drive home with it....the first 100 miles it drove perfectly, I then stopped to swap driving with my friend and when he tried to drive away it started spluttering (sort of kangarooing) and the revs were going up and down between 0 - 1500 but wouldnt go over 1500. We didnt turned the engine off when we stopped to swap over. We managed to pull in the the side of the road and called the breakdown people who came out and put it on the back of their truck and took it home.

I put it into the garage who changed the fuel filter and checked that it was getting fuel to all the injectors which it was. They said they put it on the computer and it brought up fault code 4 (i think he said 4) which was to do with one of the injectors, but as said it is getting fuel to the injectors. The other code it brought up was for air con but i dont think it even has air con??

It now turns over ok but then just dies.

Has anyone ever experienced this or have any suggestions? We dont have a local ford garage so would like to try and figure out the problem before have to get it transported to the nearest one.

did ya phone the owner off the van and ask him m8 if he had trouble with it

Yeah, he said he has never had any probs with it and had it serviced 3-4 weeks before we bought it (got the receipts). He seems genuine and is going to pay the garage bill to fix it.

well thats good off him to pay the bill for ya m8 hope ya get it sorted out this week
