Wiper motor/arms issue

Hi all.

Got a 53 plate connect HR/LWB

The wiper on the drivers side keeps over running onto the A pillar. And also keeps catching the passenger wiper.

The wipers are the right size according to ford 22" and 20", and have been fine for over a year but now catching.

I've noticed that there's scratch marks on the motor made by the linkage as it circulates which I presume should not be happening.

As its been bloody raining so much I've bent the drivers side arm a little bit to move it away from the passengers side wiper so I can still use them, however they still catch occasionally but not every time.

Any ideas??

I have a problem with the wipers at the moment when it has done the full cycle as the wipers come back down to the resting place it seems that they bottom out and then come to rest quarter of an inch further up on the screen has anyone else had this problem cheers.

Yeh mine do that as well as the above issue.

Had same prob with mine, there is a setting procedure in Haynes manual but my arms are seized on so I just put a shorter one on n/side. problem solved

When you look at the front windscreen the wiper arm on the pasenger side is higher up than the other one when in the stationary position any ideas cheers.

I have had a letter today from ford advising of a recall for faulty wiper arm pivot pins, possibly resulting in detached wiper arms.
The van needs to go in for replacement parts at fords expense.
Recall no. 2C459.

Hi can you post a copy of the letter on here as it might help other people when they go to Fords as I phoned the local Ford Dealer and they say they havent heard of this it might help cheers.

I've got a wiper problem as I found out last Sunday when I bought the T200 and 100 miles from the seller I approached the M62 and it started to rain so I put the stick to 1st position to intermitent but the wipers went half way up and stuck, I had to keep blipping the stick to get them back to the original position. Then if I put them on speed two they work fine but then I turn them off again and they stop anywhere on the screen.

I need some idea's, guess it's something to do with the motor, anyway I hope you get it sorted m8y as it's bloody annoying them not working properly.

Don't the wipers work through a relay? Could be a faulty one of those?

Most wiper motors have a microswitch in them, the switch is the wiper park switch so the motor knows where to stop when switched off, never done a transit motor but have opened a few and the switch have been all gummed up or it cattle trucked

No, its inside the wiper motor
