I want to steam clean engine but what will I need to cover do I don't f*** it up?

If you really want to do it then you should cover anything electrical, fuse box, relay box, injectors, battery etc.

You could just get some "gunk" and brush it on the areas you want to clean then rinse if off. Much more precise but takes longer.

As above with gunk and a brush then rinse with a clean brush and water, no need for a hose or pressure washer

Thanks I just used no toil which I use on mx bike and it removed the crisp straight away

Whenever I've done it before I've kept the engine running whilst doing it and for a good 20 mins after it. And ive never covered anything just made sure I've not aimed directly at alternator etc etc

I used Comma Hyperclean to clean my engine down, cuts through oil & grime in seconds

Use a stiff paintbrush & just brush it on leave if a minute & just rinse off :wink:

you can also use tfr (traffic film remover) or called truck wash.its cheaper and can be used for a lot more jobs.
water/pressure washers can be used just clingfilm up the fusebox.i then use autogylm vinyl and rubber care or pink sheen as the engine dries the dressing works its way down covering the whole engine bay.i also have the engine running to speed up the drying
