WET POLLEN FILTER

Postby tc1 » Thu Jan 03, 2013 3:32 pm

I noticed that there was very little airflow from my heater on my 2005 LWB tdci connect van. I have traced it to the pollen filter being drenched with water and the water actually stopping the airflow. Has anybody had wet pollen/cabin filter problems on a Connect ?
Many thanks.

Hello, thank you for your reply. Which foam seals, the seal between the pollen filter housing and the bulkhead just stops water that has got into that space going through the heater onto the floor inside the cabin. The actual pollen filter itself is open to the elements with no cover and seal as such.
Thanks.

Hi,if you look further down the topic page or do search on here this chestnut is everywhere. the problem is the seal has gone on your scuttle panel which presses against your windscreen :D

Thanks for that, yes it does seem a bit hard,I bet Ford dont supply the seal by its self it will have to be a whole scuttle panel. I dont fancy using sealant like other people have I would like it to be easily serviceable in the future. My situation is further compounded by the fact that a couple of the scuttle screws are turning so they are not bringing down the scuttle onto the screen. I am going to use some self adhesive foam to replace the old stuff.
Thanks.

Does anyone know if the seal on the drivers side scuttle panel is critical(if there is one) ?

The mk1 focus had an issue with the scuttle panel seal and that was available as just the seal so order one of those. I think they are the same length.
