Cheap oil

Postby hotlimepickle » Sat Jan 19, 2013 8:24 am

Hi all. I've just noticed a special offer at halfrauds for cheap oil. £10 for 4 litres. Seems cheap to me anyway. £20 for enough oil for a change plus spare to top up with.
That is all! :|

It may be cheap to start with but in the long run it'll cost you more, oil is the main engine component, without it its not going to last long. I would never use cheap shite oil in anything

Just out of interest, would everyone agree with that? It is Halfords own brand of oil, usually £20 for 4 litres reduced to half price. I know it's not magnatec or anything, but is it really that bad? It didn't have chips floating in it or anything :) Plus I've already bought it :?

Nice one, it looks like you could get a Transit done too, it only excludes CARS over 2l.

This is off the halfrauds website.

Halfords 5W30 Part Synthetic Motor Oil - Ford product description
Halfords 5W30 Part Synthetic Motor Oil 4L is suitable for Fords from 1997-2006 and some Land Rover, Jaguar, Volvo and Mazda vehicles.

Halfords 5W30 Part Synthetic Motor Oil ? Ford product description
■Meets the requirements of Ford WSS-M2C-913-B
■Formulated to the same protection and performance standards as the leading brands
■Suitable for petrol and diesel vehicles

Looks ok to me? But I'm no expert! :)

Hmm... That has the same spec as the Halfords one. (Suitable for applications requiring WSS-M2C913-B) Maybe it's not so bad? :?
