rear knocking only when braking

I have a 57 plate transit connect 18 tdc every time the brakes are applied a knocking noise comes from the rear the harder you press the pedal the louder it gets. More noticeable at high speed have tried new drums and shoes and new handbrake cable but still it keeps knocking the brakes seem to be working as they should and the van has recently gone through an mot any ideas to try
