hi i have read on here and on the internet that you can programme a new key if you have 2 working keys so my question is i bought a connect 54 reg and only got 1 key with it i managed to get the t-code and got 1 cut can anybody tell me is it possible to programme the new key with just one working key or would i have to go to ford to get it done

i only had one key for my connect and i went to my local timpsons to have one cut and they charged me £30 to have one cut and programmed however i need to take it back as it needs a bit more taking off it so at the moment cant say if it works or not

i have one cut dose everything apart from start my van phoned ford today and they want £72.00 +vat to programme it :x :x :x

As mentioned on here couple of months ago ( search on here ! ) don't go to ford and get ripped off. I only had one key for my focus so got a key off ebay and rang a local autokey locksmith who came out coded key to car no probs for £45. Timpsons can't code your key they can only give you one with a chip in and cut it.

If you have 2 working key then you can program a 3rd, if you only have one working key then a diag\key machine needs plugging in to the vehicle to code the key, as Capovan said you dont need to go to Fords for this as many workshops + auto locksmith's with a the equipment to do the job and be cheaper. I only had 1 key with mine when I got it, I got another 3 button key cut but same with yours it would not start the van, I tried a few locksmiths just to see if the could clone the transponder from the working key and they could not

well got a mobile auto locksmith the day came out cut a key and programmed it to my van for £45.00 happy days
