Postby connect sport » Wed Feb 27, 2013 7:17 am

hi i have just taken delivery of a 2009 connect sport, does any one know
1. should there be a spare wheel under the usual spare wheel compartment?
2. i have some user manuals but no mention of the tyrw sizes of my connect sport so i am guessing i have the wrong manuals?
3. there is a puncture repair kit with some repair fluis and a compressor ? is this standard issue?

We bought our Connect sport (one owner) a few years ago and it came with no spare wheel or wind down mechanism, but oddly the jack kit mounted behind the driver seat. The unused compressor and goo were in the glove box.

Straight away we bought a genuine winding mechanism for about £90 which was easy to fit and also the little plastic flap thing for about £4. A second hand steel wheel with tyre was £30 or so off eBay.

Did not fancy being caught out in the dark etc with no spare, although technically the vehicle would not specified for use with a different size wheel, but I'd hardly take it for an Mot like that, just use it to get home if stuck.

Would not like to try to source a correct load rated 225/40/18 at 10pm in Northumberland going to the in-laws.

Northumberland is a dark place around the country lanes if you in laws live in the sticks

Yes on the same road, the A697. Very bleak place, certainly without a spare wheel.....
