I don't know about the fob...
But I got a spare key for my TC cut at Timpsons... key was cut and programmed in less than 10 mins. Cant remember the cost... but it was very convenient and probably cheaper than going to ford.

Yep, it's te key in the ignition turn it to position 2 and off 8 times or ten times then the locks cycle, then you have to press a button on each fob you wish to program.

It's something along those lines, someone will be a bit more specific soon

Instruction usually come with the fob but if not:

Switch ignition from position 1 to 2, 8 times, locks will then lock & un-lock.
Press any button on remote, locks will then lock & un-lock.
Switch ignition to position 2, then completely off and remove key and test.

Is that with any key...?
Last time I rear anything about self programming keys or fobs (back when I had my mk5) it involved using the red key... but that was a good number of years ago, so forgive me if I'm out of date with my understanding

doing the above will only do the central locking. this wont programme the chip for the immobiliser so you will be unable to start the van

If you don't have 2 original keys that are required to program a third for immobiliser.

There is a very simple solution/mod you can do

Get hold of one of these keys - yes they can be reprogrammed for remote central locking on connects

Image

On your ignition key, you will find a blue cap on the end - very carefully remove this to remove the immobiliser chip

Image

This is immobiliser chip - be careful as its in a glass capsule :!:

Image

Open up the new remote fob & fit your immobilser chip into it.

Image

finally get a new keyblade cut, job done now you can start your connect :D

This is what I use for my connect - flip key remote fob 8) , Also used on Mondeo mk4, Focus mk2 etc.

So I take it if I buy a blank key off eBay I won't be able to get an immobiliser chip unless I go to ford?
