Hi,

A week ago i bought a ford transit connect 2011 plate, and it wasnt until i was coming down motorway i relised it had a 60 mph speed limiter in place, so i bought F-ord VCM II V86 F-ord OEM Diagnostic Tool to remove it,

not that easy there were no instruction on how to do this, i contacted the company who sold it and they could not help me, spent 3 days searching intenet for information on how to do it with no such look.

then come across your forum.

please please help someone

what i have done so far is installed software onto laptop pluged it into van, and its bought me information up of the vans details, then im lost.

You need to select Module programming

Connects use a calibration file when adapting\removing the speed limiter, you will have to re- do the cluster to ecu once done, you will need both keys to reprogram as well, when you choose speed limiter off it will come up with a message about a configuration file needed.

Once it flashes with the correct file it wont start, you need to have code for matching the cluster to the ecu, then re-do keys.
make sure you have an incode calc to proceed

Is your VCM original or clone, Ive heard that some china clones get half way through this process then crash so be be careful
Please don't send me PM's, i can't access them, when I try I get this:

To remove speed limiter from a 2011 connect.

Once VCMII & IDS has communicated with your connect.

Select toolbox & then module programming - click on tick mark

Image

Select Programmable parameters then speed items - click on tick mark

Image

Select vehicle speed limit, then disable speed limiter - click on tick mark

Image

It will then ask if equipped with PATS, select yes & follow instructions 8)

Once programming is complete, it will automatically run PATS service function.

So you don't need to reprogram keys or Instrument cluster :mrgreen:

Whole process from start to finish takes 5 minutes to complete. 8)

Rest of main instructions - IDS will ask to turn ignition off & on several times

Select yes for PATS

Image

IDS will then erase PCM (ECU)

Image

IDS will download data to PCM (ECU)

Image

Click on tick mark to continue - IDS will ask you to turn ignition off & on several times

Image

Run PATS service function - click on tick mark to continue - IDS will ask you to turn ignition off & on several times

Image

Operation complete - click on tick mark to continue

Image

After DTC's have been cleared process is completed

Image

You don't need to reprogram keys or Instrument cluster (vehicle security - Module initialization) & INCODES are not required :!: :!:

this is what it said it could do. are they false advertising?

ford vcm ii Features:

1. The VCM II is the new Ford OEM diagnostic tool. It provides dealer-level diagnostics using the IDS software.
2. The VCM II is the brand new diagnostics interface from Ford for use with the Integrated Diagnostics Software (IDS).
3. The VCM II and IDS, along with a dedicated laptop, provides full dealer diagnostic capabilities for most 16 pin Fords.
4. The VCM II will be required for all new 2013 Ford vehicles and is backwards compatible with most 16 pin Fords.
It supports the Vehicle Measurement Module (VMM) and new Customer Flight Recorder (CFR).
5. The VCM II has shock resistant rubber ends, making it suitable for garage and workshop environments.
6. The CFR replaces the Vehicle Data Recorder (VDR).
7. The CFR is an optional cable that allows the VCM II to monitor and record live data streams. This provides an advantage for technicians when diagnosing

Ford vcm II Function: (Most of these function only New Ford VCM II has, while old version Ford VCM does not have most of these functions)

* Automatic vehicle recognition
* Read & Clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)
* Live Data-stream with Recording & Playback Functions for Main ECUs
* Guided Fault Finding
* New Software Re-flash for Existing ECUs
* Programming & Installation of new ECUs (PCM, ABS, Instrument Cluster, Air Bag, Fuel Pumps, etc.)
* Program New Keys
* Injector Coding
* Set, Adjust or Remove Speed Governors
* DPF Regeneration
* Brake Bleeding
* Steering Angle Resets
* All Other Dealer Functions

It's not the unit as it can do all that, Its the Ford IDS software that is supplied with it. (Typical of the Chinese ones as software has been hacked)
Where did you buy yours from Ebay or another website ?
