tdci 75ps and 90ps differences

Postby dannyboy89 » Thu Apr 17, 2014 6:50 pm

Hi all, can anyone tell me the difference between a 75ps tdci and a 90ps tdci? I'm guessing it can't just be a remap because the 75ps can be mapped to 90 but the 90ps can be mapped further. I've got a 75ps tdci 2007 and would like abit more power.

75ps TDCI are available on connect from 2006 onwards.

The difference between a 75ps TDCI & 90ps TDCI in connect from 2006-2011, Mechanically there's no difference.
Only the calibration loaded onto ECU is different.

110ps have a VNT turbo & all connects 75 & 90ps from 2011 with DPF also have VNT turbo's

Yours is a 2007 Connect 75ps TDCI. Upload standard 90ps calibration onto ECU via Ford IDS.
If already done this on a few connects already 8)

Ok cool, so am I right in saying I could change the calibration to a 90ps spec and the remap from there for around 110bhp or is the calibration just another way of saying remap? Most tuning sites say the 75ps can be mapped to 90 and the 90ps can be mapped to 110.

Yes you can change calibration to from 75 to 90ps

Once you have uploaded the standard 90ps calibration onto ECU. There's nothing stopping it from being remapped up to 110ps.
(preferably with a improved torq curve through the rpm range which would give a far quicker acceleration time)

In terms of top speed even with a remap, there will be no gains - limited by the connects gearbox with a ratio of 4.06 :(

Sounds good! I'm not really after top speed just abit better acceleration really. Don't wanna start getting involved with changing to a focus gearbox for the better final drive. Well not yet anyway lol. Looks like I need to find someone local with a copy of ford ids then. Is it an easy job?
