04 Connect wiper issue

Postby PaudieG60 » Tue Aug 04, 2015 1:46 pm

I have an ongoing issue with the wipers.

The issue I'm having is that sometimes my wipers do not work at all unless I flick the stalk to the fastest speed.

I can hear the relay clicking on the other speeds but nothing happens.

Is this a common issue?
Is it a simple case of just fitting a new relay?

Replacement relays are cheap and easy to fit so would be a good starting point.

Does anyone have the part number for the wiper relay?

All 4 relays at the back of the glove box are clicking so I don't know what one to replace.

If wiper relay is ok.

Then fault possibly be..

1. Column wiper switch itself
2. Instrument Cluster
3. Wiring

Here is wiring diagram

Thanks Paul, I'll look into those options after I get a relay.

Will a universal relay from a motor factors do or will it have to be a Ford part does anyone know?

Get a proper Ford one.

After taking the relay out to double check the p/n, there has been no issue sense refitting!

Relay was possibly loose and causing my issues.
