Connect questions?

Postby grandgu » Sat Jun 30, 2007 3:06 pm

Hi just new and although there is a conflict about this being a 'true Transit' I hope the questions are easy enought to answer.
The van came with only one key, and immobliser, can I get a copy easy enough, or is this going to come to money! I had a estate last year and only one key, when in France locked the key inside and had to break a window to get in, had a copy made but this only opened the doors did not start the car.
I have read some messages about keys immo's etc but have a conflict in the brain! easy one please?
Thanks GG

Presuming your remaining key has a blue chip (blue insert in the plastic part of the key) you can get them copied cheaply enough. You then just program the new keys, or for better security, de-program the existing key, then re-program it along with the new one(s). Instructions will likely be on here somewhere.

Connect does have the blue dot key, so as long as you get a key with the correct chip inside a dealer will be able to add it for you.

The vehicle requires an "in code" from FMC to gain access into PATS so without a second coded key being with the vehicle, you can't add a further key yourself.

Ok Thanks. Any idea what a spare one would cost from a dealer?
