Leaf Springs

Postby seagullsandvikings » Sat Apr 28, 2018 11:56 am

Hi all.

I have a 2011 T230 which has a visibly damaged leaf on the RIGHT side, as a result that arch sits more than an inch lower than the other side when empty.
The steering wheel and front road wheels all turn to the left when i drive forwards, and to the right when i reverse. The tracking is fine as are all of the front suspension components, tyre pressures and brakes etc.

I will be converting the van into a campervan so it will never have any significant load in the back.

I have a few questions:

Do you agree that the steering issues are likely being caused by the defective leaf ?
Can i replace the leaf springs on both sides with T200 ones (SWB on LWB), will they fit ?
How will handling be affected if i replace the springs with T200 ones ?

Many Thanks

As Paul said! And speak to a good leaf spring specialist if you don't fancy ford prices. And they will contour the new one to exactly suit the other. They should also give you a health check on the other side too.
