Unable to lock Front doors and Cargo door

Postby funki » Sun Sep 02, 2018 12:29 am

Hello all!

I'm new to the forums.

I just bought a Transit Connect and when I lock my doors using my physical key, it only locks the back side doors. I'm unable to lock the front doors and the cargo doors (the door all the way in the back).

The guy that sold me the vehicle said the problem is because of the computer.

H said he had to replace the computer, he did get the computer from another vehicle (also transit connect) and at the same time ordered the computer for my vehicle from the dealer, he will replace it once he gets it but it might take +1 month.

My question is this: Is there anything else I can do to get the locks to work?

Thanks, everyone! :D

Apologies!

It's a 2013 Transit Connect XLT, 45,000 miles

I realized that the Door Ajar" light is always on, that would tell em "it's a sensor" but I don't want to spend money on that if the actual issue is the computer.

Does it make sense that it could be the computer?

no it doesn't, if the Door Ajar light is on it wont lock as the locking module thinks a door/s is open, best and easiest thing to do is get a ford diag tool plugged in to see what door/s is making the light stay on, check out the latch on that door/s, the adjustment of the door/s and the wiring
