30 Miles 1/4 tank used - T230 110BHP LWB

Postby notty electrical » Fri Sep 14, 2018 4:22 pm

Hey all,

Heading back from the night shift last night from Heathrow for a 30 mile trip back home on the m25, no traffic, clear the whole way, kept a steady 70mph. my van used 1/4 of a tank in just 30 miles!!
I think there might be something up with my van, carrying around 100kg - 150kg of weight at the moment.
has anyone else had this kind of fuel consumption?

I normally drive on dual carriageways and motorways at 60mph and the van will happily drive 400+ miles to a tank, this just doesn't seem right to me.

Was this starting with a full tank mate? I have noticed mine is not amazingly accurate for the first 1/4 of a tank. The needle seems to slow down after that! Possibly just me though lol It's not producing any excess black exhaust is it? Not that you would probably notice this in the dark mind you!...

It was from 3/4 to half. I didn't notice any smoke, but I did notice over the weekend that the needle stayed on half full for 60 miles! weird one this.
