Cannot open 04 Connect bonnet

Hi,
I cannot get my Connect bonnet open and am looking for helps and tips. It is the type which requires the key in a panel just under the front of the bonnet. I have both keys and neither will open the bonnet. My MOT is due next week and the tester has told me this is a common fault on Connects of this age.

Any ideas or pointer would be great.

are the keys worn?.....if not u can try spraying wd40 into it, also try pressing down on bonnet while using key. if that all fails you'll have to use a screwdriver to force lock then replace it
