dashboard light

My vans mileage light,on the dash is on permanent.Switch engine off,radio light and mileage light stay on.Next morning,radio light is off,
but mileage light (Think it's called odometer?) is still on,so obviously it's on all night. Is this normal,or is it a fault in the electrics somewhere?
