Irrational behaviour of speedo, Rev counter etc

Hi all,
I have recently bought a 2006 connect 1.8tdci. Overall it’s pretty tidy but noticed driving along one evening, all the clocks went dead. Speedo, Rev counter, fuel and temp gauges. Multiple lights came on, however, the head lights stayed on, the engine didn’t drop power or anything, and then after two seconds, everything went back to normal.

Has anyone else had this happen? What was the cause?

A little concerned as I have just bought the van and need it to goto work etc..

Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
