Cost of replacing sills on a Connect ?

Postby aneng » Thu Apr 04, 2019 6:03 pm

Hi,

I've just spotted holes in both sills on my wife's 2003 Connect TDDi. The MOT is due next month. Does anyone have a ballpark figure for getting these replaced ?

Thanks !

It’s difficult to say the only thing you can be sure of is the price of replacement panels once you start welding body work it can soon end up as a bigger job then you originally think your only real way is to take it and get a quote

My 06 failed its MOT for this recently.
I got a ballpark quote for replacing the sills, it was £400  :(
When I took it to the welding shop and they took a look at the van they told me they could just patch the sills.
The work cost me £175 and the van passed the MOT retest. :D

i bought an inner and outer sill for a transit mk3 for £50 and bought an arc welder for £55...a few other bits and bobs like welding rods,cutting/grinding discs and filler and did the job in a day and im a novice so these guys charging £400 are rip off merchants
