Ford transit connect 1.5 TDCI 2017

Postby Enver » Sun Apr 21, 2019 3:19 pm

Hi,

I have a Ford Transit Connect 1.5 tdci from 2017.
The timing belt had snapped, and we changed the exhaust and intake valves.
Now the car starts fine and iddels fine, but when you drive about 100 meter, we get a fault code P2279 intake air system leak.

We cant really find the leak. At iddle 800rpm the maf sensor measures 8,5 grams pr second, and it should be around 10,5 grams pr second.

Will a leak in the valves cause this fault code? Any ideas what i should look after?

Thanks in advance!

Recheck timing, timing out by one tooth can set that code.

Hello i have this same troublecode P2259 in my car, the cambelt
Snapped, and we replaced it and also the valves and rockerarms,
The timing is good have checked it 2 times, is it possible that the
Camshaft is the problem?

Hi all

I have the same problem. However it can drive for 20 miles without coming on. Once the eml comes on it throws it into limp home. I have checked all seals and pipes hoses ect. Timeing on mine is perfect however new rockers tappets old camshaft. It idle fine and revs up OK. I feel a slight flat spot when it's boosting it would be great to know if you guys fixed the problem with a new camshaft?
