Water leak from Block ?

Hi guys, can anyone shed any light on this??
My connect 2005 l200td sprang a water leak last week, I couldn't take it off the road so just kept filling it for the small mount of mileage I've done.
Finally got time to take a look today and found she only leaks when the system gets hot and pressurised, I thought it would be a hose but after stripping the intercooler pipe out of the way for a better look I found what appears to be water coming from the block!!!!

(The pic is sideways) This is the left side at the front of the engine (viewed from the front) have removed the bracket that hold the intercooler pipe too.
Is this a core plug??? Would it be a fortune to get it replaced?

Any help appreciated

Alan.

The hose below seems to connect to the water pump somehow ( through the casing / belt housing) don't know that for sure, just
seems to line up according to videos I've watched of changing the water pump!
The sludge (and seemingly the leak) are in a recess in the engine block, I'm trying to work out if there is a core plug in there thats leaking or just a crack in the block. Can't get in any better to look at it!!

The hose is not directly connected to the water pump

Thank you Liteace, Can't get in to see it clearly so looks like I'm going to have to get it to the garage for a quote.

Mine appears to be leaking in the same area, difficult to pin point where it is leaking from. Where was your leaking from? How much did your garage quote?

Turned out to be a core plug on the front left side of the block. just under the left hand intercooler pipe, there is a bracket bolted to the block, the core plug is half hidden behind that.
good luck
