06 connect heater questions

Postby murfeey » Thu Oct 17, 2019 4:34 pm

gents any ideas .
About 2weeks ago at mot time tester mentions that my rad had seen better days ,started to bow damaged fins etc and coolant could do with replacing.van has 100 k on it ,I've owned for 3yrs now.
The heater had started to blow hot then warm now cold air.
So today replaced the rad .flushed out the system with cold water, disconnected the matrix pipe and found little flow,so disconnected other and flushed both ways till water ran clear.cleaned out the header tank and had clean flow out of egr valve housing.fitted a new thermostat .
Fitted new rad and refilled with anti freeze water and ran up.with no cap on.
Temp gauge comes up to halfway as usual, went for a drive and came back still got cold air out of heater.
Checked the dials on panel all working on speed settings and changing from cold to hot.
Any ideas have I missed something
Cheers murf

Was gonna suggest the stat, but this is odd. Could try running up without the cap on for much longer? I have seen a couple of focus's take a good hour to run all of the air locks out before!. Just an idea. Anyone else care to help the man out? Good luck mate.
