Transit connect egr issue???

Hi everyone, my van doesmt start first time on a morning, now everything seems fine even when its been sat at work all day and i start it before my journey home it starts first time its just that initial morning start!!! Also its absolutely rubbish on diesel 1.8tddi 75bhp, now im wondering whether my egr is sticking open or sticking shut when left overnight, had a similar issue with my 57 mondeo, any cons to blanking off egr or getting it mapped out completely, obviously would prefer to blank it as it a heap cheaper, please any advice welcomed

I had starting issues; changed the glow plugs and the problem was well gone! Relatively cheap and an easy enough DIY job (I ain't no mechanic!)

I also had EGR issues. Tried a blanking plate but still had problems. Had the EGR mapped out and no problem whatsoever since!
