Hi all,
I drive a 2013 plate Transit connect T230 RDCI.
It has repeated problems with exhaust fumes in the cab and measurable Carbon Monoxide of upto 30ppm.
It has been in the garage twice now and they have been unable to trace the issue. It has been running on Shell Vpower for the past few weeks in an attempt to resolve or improve it but to no avail.
The fumes seem to be sporadic.
Its worse when cold and warming up .
I feel that something is going on in the engine bay and the fumes are being drawn in via the ventilation system.
If i put the vent on recirc then the problem is less noticeable
I have also noticed it when the van is parked, with a hot engine but idling.
I noticed on the dipstick that its slightly over filled.
Mileage is around 70k.
There is no smoke from exhaust.
Occasionally i notice that when i start it,it can idle for a few seconds then begin to falter and stutter and i habe to keep blipping the throttle for it to pick up and not stall then it settle down.
From my readings i suspect this is a common issue with this model ?
Thanks for any advice/clues..
