Not sure if this helps, I had the exact same on the van I just bought. It's a 2003, and it turned out the key was just badly worn. Even though it worked fine in the ignition and doors, it wouldn't open the bonnet. I got a new key cut from the code on ebay and it then opened first time.

Hi, dont think so, i have to very badly worn keys and one new one, funnily enough, previously always done better on the bonnet with the worn out keys, however none of the 3 will open the bonnet, it does turn all the way left just doesnt release, may be a case of smashing the front grill, i can pick them up on ebay pretty cheap. Thanks for your input, always appreciate a response!

Fair enough, just thought I'd mention it as I nearly ordered a new lock for mine before checking the key. From what I saw about removing a broken lock, it didn't look easy without breaking the grill but I'm a noob when it comes to Connects - good luck!

Ended up breaking the grill but got a new one on ebay, lock and grill were less than £30 so not too bad, only took about 15 minutes to do, i think you probably could just squeeze a 10mm ratchet spanner to remove d hoop off the bonnet but it seemed like more effort than its worth when the parts were so cheap
